Chcolate Pudding - Basil Seed (GF, DF, LF)

This easy to make treat is one of my favorites and gets some great nutrition from the basil seeds!  You can always substitute with chia seed to see if you like it first, but remember chia seeds have lectins. 


Ingredients:

  • 1/4 C Unsweetened cocoa powder (alki free)  
  • 3-5 TBSP Maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp  Ground cinnamon (optional)  
  • 1 pinch  Sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract    
  • 1 ½ C Almondmilk Original Unsweetened or dairy free milk of choice
  • 1/2 C Basil Seed

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl add cacao powder, maple syrup, ground cinnamon, salt, and vanilla and whisk to combine to a paste. 
  2. Then add a little dairy-free milk at a time and whisk until a paste forms. 
  3. Then add remaining dairy-free milk and whisk until smooth. 
  4. Add basil seeds and whisk once more to combine. 
  5. Then cover and refrigerate overnight, or at least 3-5 hours.
  6. Enjoy leftovers in the fridge for 4-5 days.
